Internships

Internships are available to students interested in learning more about the support and recovery process associated with addiction or looking to get experience in planning/implementing programming with the recovery population.

Most internships involve some of the following:

  • Work with agency staff and attend various meetings and events to learn more about how the community is helping to overcome the challenges of addiction

  • Co-facilitate recovery support programming

  • Assist with the RED program that is provided every Saturday morning

  • Work with our fundraising team on public events like the Voices of Recovery Brunch and Home Run 10K/5K Walk/Run

  • Work with the Prevention Specialist to deliver Prevention Education in the schools

  • Develop programming for the Drop-In Center

  • Work with staff to organize and provide activities during the Annual Turned Leaf Family Festival in September/October

  • Assist with lunches on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday

Past Internships

Groups organized a variety of events, building great camaraderie with one another and the population they serve. Specifically, CRC interns created an Earth Day clean-up event at Riverside Park and a Pool League to provide fellowship to the recovery population. Students from Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Community Health Education, Criminal Justice, and Servant Leadership programs are encouraged to apply.

We’ve provided on-site work experience for students from UW-La Crosse, Viterbo University, Western Technical College, and Winona State University.
